Award-winning butcher, Elite Meat, started out in 1999 through two brothers, Gordon and Andrew. As sons of a local farming family, both knew the value of good quality and locally produced Yorkshire meat. Since then, our shop near Harrogate has gone from strength to strength. We’re a traditional butcher catering for individual and trade customers.
While Gordon is a familiar face to many behind the counter, Andrew farms 40 acres of land in Kettlesing. He also manages a further 170 acres of land in the surrounding Harrogate area and is a national livestock judge.
This helps us, as a National Champion Butcher, to provide the highest quality meat available.
Gordon and Andrew’s father, Ben, was a well-known personality in Harrogate and Yorkshire’s farming community, having served on the Animal Welfare Council for well over a decade. He was always fully supportive of the cooking classes available to local enthusiasts in and around Harrogate looking to improve their culinary expertise.
We’ve helped many people in learning to cook to a high level through our cooking classes. Whether we’re talking about making full use of a carcase or producing bone broth, our aim is to help students of all ages enjoy their cooking and to produce great dishes.
Our prize-winning national and regional meat, and our pork pies, bone broth and ready meals, derive from recipes that have earned us many coveted awards across the region and nationwide. In recent years, Elite Meats have acquired premises next door to our award-winning butchers shop which serves as a bakery.
We also offer cooking and butchery classes at our premises near Harrogate to anybody looking to improve their culinary skills.
Our facilities are second-to-none and include a specially installed maturation fridge, which allows our meat to dry age for a wonderful mouth-watering flavour. As a local Harrogate and nationwide award-winning butcher, we offer the best meat available with the highest nutritional value.
